Booking in a Pet Portrait
01
Pick a size
Firstly, you’ll need to decide on the size portrait you’d like. Sizes and prices can be found on each mediums page.
Consider where the portrait will be placed in your home and if you’d want a rectangular portrait, or a square portrait. I can recommend which shape would work best based on the reference photos you have if you are unsure.
I will always confirm the details of your commissioned pet portrait before I start it.
03
Book in your portrait
Once you have decided on the size and gathered a selection of reference photos, the next step is to get in contact with me via the Contact page.
I usually have a 2 month waiting list, so please bear this in mind if you need the portrait completed by a particular date.
To secure your place on my waiting list, I require a 50% non-refundable deposit, via bank transfer. The remaining payment can be made once the drawing is complete. The deposit will go towards your portrait.
05
Completion
Once your pet portrait is complete, I will send you a range of high-quality photos.
The work will be sent with a signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity.
Once you are 100% happy with your portrait, the remaining payment can be made.
02
Pick a reference photo
Secondly, you will need a good quality photograph of your pet. I use one main photo as a reference, this needs to capture not only the character of your pet but the detail.
Please see the Portrait Photograph Guide page for what makes the best reference photo.
04
Process
I will always contact you before starting your portrait, to confirm the size and photo I’ll be working from.
I will start by working on an outline drawing and will send that to you to make sure you are happy with progress so far - any adjustments can be made at that stage.
After that and once I have started on the detail, due to the nature of the mediums used, it can be much harder to make any changes.
